As such, every track in tonight’s show has some special reference to the mountains in its title, the album it is on, or in the theme of the music. It is “Mountain Night” tonight on Blue Water Drift Dive on ! After a lovely road trip through Colorado and Wyoming last week - the reason there was no show last weekend - I think it’s appropriate to have a show focused on the music of the mountains. To chat in Slack: click here (or click here for more instructions). If you tune in, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello … As with all programs, the emphasis is on community, so of course there is a live chat. The show happens tonight at 10p/9p/8p/7p ET/CT/MT/PT (2a UTC), immediately following the end of Tony Gerber’s fantastic Ambient Sundays program, and will last at least 2 hours. And I’ll be opening the program with a live set, as always. So tonight, in both hours, I’ll be presenting several selected cuts from Spheric Lounge‘s vast catalog. Just the kind of music we like here on Blue Water Drift Dive. The music spans a great deal of sonic territory but always has a strong element of community and improvisation. If you’re not familiar, Spheric Lounge is a multi-person live ambient music project, an open circle of musicians who meet periodically in Munich Germany to create ambient music and collaborate on sound artistry.

But I am feeling ornery, so tonight we will instead be focusing on the delightful live collaborate music of Spheric Lounge! With Halloween only 6 days away, one might think tonight would be a great night for some spooky dark ambience - and one might be right.
